Rare dagger!! The blade is 12" plated and etched example, remaining bright and crisp, with a reverse ricasso marked Pack. The blade itself exhibits a beautifully engraved pattern on both sides. The etch is lightened and difficult to photograph, and for any doubters out there, No it's not a Naval etch. The blade has some pitting to the obverse riccasso area. The thin tan felt blade washer is soiled but remains intact. The fittings are silvered brass, the obverse crossguard bearing a pinned horn motif in the center horizontal block. The bone grip is smooth but has yellowed with age, exhibiting light crazing and a lingditudinal hairline common to the type grips. The whole thing is wrapped in fine brass wire a couple of which are broken. The pommel exhibits a nice-detailed Imperial Prussian crown, with open variant finials in the naval style. The brass hilt fitting are all silvered with wear. The body of the scabbard is wrapped in brown leather, well-stitched together along the rear seam. The locket and chape in silvered brass, the frog stud remains. Footnote: The Prussian Automobile Corps (Kraftfahr Korps) was established in 1905, as an adjunct to the Imperial Automobile Club and was organized along paramilitary lines. Its goal was to improve the state of motor transport in Prussia and to train drivers for the army.
