Interesting Puma Dove-head Army Sword

I always like getting Puma swords they are interesting and often have unique features. This pattern is illustrated in Angolia's reference pg 115. There are some odd scuffs but that's it. The 34" unplated blade on this one rates NM. Unusual for sure to get an unplated blade on an Army sword but rest assured they are found most often late production. Neat! The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The last variation Puma maker mark was used on this one. Look to the throat and you will see that Puma numbered this one "6". And we know that Puma did this, see Angolia's reference pg 116. The black enamel painted scabbard shows some normal scrapes and period wear from the area that would rub in normal period wear. It certainly retains more than 80% of its original paint. The scabbard remains dent free and the throat is secured by two dome head screws. The aluminum hilt and P-guard are beautifully detailed with great gilt! There is some wear to the gilt finish revealing the base metal to a few spots. The languet features an open winged hand enhanced eagle. The black celluloid grip is in perfect condition! Three aluminum twisted wires remain intact and tightly secured. A beauty for sure!
