Here's a desirable crossguard variation! The bright blade on this one looks good! The fit is perfect and the tip comes to a perfect point. The dark and crisp, acid etched "AWS Alcoso Solingen" maker mark is beautifully executed! The blade rates an Exc+/Exc++. It shows some age grey/spotting towards the tip. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, nickel plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! It remains completely dent free! The original throat retaining screw continues to remain intact! The distinctive final Alcoso "High-Lift" pattern eagle crossguard design is beautifully detailed throughout the eagle's head, wings, wreath, beak and chest! The distinctive Alcoso pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The crossguard, scabbard, ferrule and pommel all match in color, plating, patina and age wear. Just the way you want to see them! The yellow-orange, trylon grip on this one is near perfect! A real treat here because 90% of these came with a celluloid over plaster grip that tend to crack. No chips, cracks or hits! This is a great piece worthy of a great collection!
