A Long - Wehrmacht Extraseitengewehr by Gustav Genschow of Berlin. The fullered 10 inch plated blade on this one looks excellent! The stamped “Geco” maker mark is beautifully executed! The plating gives it a nice mirror like finish. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates NM. There are surface scratches throughout. The buffer pad is lost to time. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks good. It retains 95%+ of its original paint coverage. It has three pressure marks to the obverse. The throat retaining screw and frog lug remain intact. The zinc-alloy based, nickel-silver plated hilt looks great as well. It retains 97%+ of a plating coverage. The push button continues to work well. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite and are secured to the hilt with two solid nickel-silver rivets. They are in perfect condition. A good piece.
