A 1st Pattern - Wehrmacht Heer Schützenschnur 3. Stufe. It is constructed out of interwoven silver/aluminum flatwire thread with a pearl satin and green wool backing and a die stamped aluminum based and silver washed shield. The obverse depicts a closed winged national eagle clutching a mobile swastika in its talons on a pebbled field all within a shield, that is attached with three prongs to an oval interwoven flatwire thread backing that has a knot and loop to the top and a knot, interwoven cord another knot and an interwoven loop to the bottom, with two acorns. The reverse shows a stitched-on pearl sating backing to the cord and a stitched on green wool backing to the oval piece. It measures approximately 16 inches long. It retains beautiful color and the shield shows wonderful detail! A great piece, don't miss your chance!
