An early model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Arthur Schüttelhöfer & Co. of Solingen-Wald. The bright blade on this one is nice but has stain near the crossguard, like something was spilled on it. The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "Asso Solingen" hobby horses maker mark are both nicely executed! Some crossgrain remains visible. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. This blade rates Exc+. The steel based, brown period repainted undented scabbard looks good in heavy lacquer with some wear. The solid nickel silver scabbard fittings look excellent matching the crossguards in color and patina. The ball remains perfectly round and all four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "S" (Schlesien). The lacquered brown oak grip looks fine. It shows minor pressure marks throughout. No chips or flakes. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a near perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A fine example!
