Early Army Dagger by Höller

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

An early slant grip, tapered tang type I Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by F. W. Höller of Solingen. The wide blade on this one looks great. The large acid etched thermometer “F. W. Höller Solingen” maker mark is dark crisp and beautifully executed! There is some evidence it's been cleaned and evidence of oxidation, the crossgrain is easily visible, all the way from the hilt to the tip, as you turn it in the light! The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! The blade rates Exc+/Exc++. The large leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The nickel silver plated dent-free scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn brass bands! The original throat retaining screws remain intact. The early brass crossguard provides beautiful hand enhanced details throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. All of the fittings are matching and have the same patina. The slant orange trylon grip is in great condition. A desirable early example!
