Early SS Dagger by Robert Klaas

Here we have an Early Model 1933 SS Dagger (Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch) by Robert Klaas of Solingen. The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched "Meine Ehre Heißt Treue" motto and "Robert Klaas Solingen" maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The fit is perfect and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates an Exc+. It shows the common runner marks and age spotting/grey throughout. The steel based black anodized scabbard looks great! It continues to hold a nice dark finish and remains completely dent free. It has 99% of the anodized finish remaining with no oxidization. The nickel-silver scabbard fittings look excellent! The ball has been pushed in. All four scabbard screws remain intact. The scabbard fit is perfect! The solid nickel-silver crossguards look excellent as well, matching the crossguards perfectly in color and patina. The reverse of the lower fitting is district stamp "III" (Berlin). The black died hardwood grip is in good condition! There is one flake to the upper obverse with common pressure marks and some fine hairlines. Now I say all that and if you look you can see the, "tiger stripe" pattern that we sometimes see on Klaas daggers. Very nice! The nickel silver eagle is crisp and wonderfully detailed. It also has a perfect fit! The SS roundel retains 99%+ of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! A quality piece here available for you today!
