Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Tiger (RZM M7/68) - Lauterjung & Co. Tiger of Solingen. One of my favorite makers! The blade on this one looks fine. The stamped double "Tiger Solingen" / "RZM M7/68" maker marks are nicely executed! The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates an Exc/Exc+. It shows age grey throughout progressively getting better towards the hilt where you can see some crossgrain. It has also been lightly sharpened. The original brown leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard is in good shape. It continues to retain approximately 90% paint coverage and remains completely dent free! The blackened scabbard leather remains with the retaining strap aged and weak. If you are careful with it, it will be fine. All of the rivets are intact and the button continues to work well! The alloy based nickel-silver plated hilt continues to retain 90% plating coverage with some wear and hits. The black bakelite checkered grip plates remain intact, chip and crack-free. The HJ diamond retains 99%+ of its enamel. A fine piece.
