An Extremely Rare Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Max Weyersberg of Solingen. This is the only Early Max Weyersberg Solingen HJ knife I’ve owned or seen in all my years! The blade on this one is rough. The stamped “Max Weyersberg Solingen” maker mark and “Ges. Gesch” patent mark and acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto are all nicely visible. It continues to hold a perfect fit and tip. The blade on this one rates Exc+. It has been ever so slightly sharpened, shows age grey, spotting and surface scratches throughout. The buffer pad is lost to time. The scabbard is steel based and black painted. It remains completely dent free and a retains 40% of its paint coverage. The brown scabbard leather retains all of its rivets and the snap continues to work well. It has been period repaired. The leather that holds the female snap portion has a hairline crack to the stress point. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 90% of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite. The solid nickel-silver rivets remain tightly secured. The HJ diamond retains 99%+ of its enamel. A very rare early maker mark. You’re not buying this one for the condition but the rarity!
