A KWHW ‘Day of the Wehrmacht' Heroische Embleme Tinnie 1941/42. This Heroic Emblem (Heroische Emblem - Schwert vor Hakenkreuz und Eichenem Kreuz) was a part of the KWKW (kriegswinterhilfswerk) in the "Tag Der Wehrmacht" series during March 28th and 29th 1941/42, and was carried out by the Wehrmacht for the NSKOV, NSRKB, DRK and RTB. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc-alloy base that has been silver washed. The obverse depicts a centrally placed downward pointing broad sword in front of a mobile swastika and Iron Cross with oak leaves to its corners. The full back reverse is marked “HG” and has a horizontally crimped on steel stick pin that has been bent the other way. A lot of times people get confused if the sword should be up or down, they were intended to go down. It measures 7/8 of an inch wide by 1 5/16 inches tall. An inexpensive addition to your collection.
