A Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by RZM M7/51 1938 - Anton Wingen Jr. of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto and “RZM M7/51 1938” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed. There is nice crossgraining easily visible in the light. It has a perfect fit. The blade rates Exc++. The tip has been hit and is 2mm short. It shows age grey and surface scratches throughout. The original blackend leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks wonderful. It retains 99% paint coverage and remains dent free. The folded over blackened ‘pig skin’ leather strap retains all of its rivets and the snap continues to work well! It shows only minor age crazing throughout. The hilt is constructed out of a steel base that has been nickel-silver plated. The plating remains in excellent condition, being 96%+ intact. The two black checkered grip plates are in great condition and secured with two solid aluminum grip rivets. To the center obverse of the grip is a HJ diamond with perfect enamel. A great mottoed example!
