A Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Ed. Wüsthof of Solingen. The ricassoed blade on this one looks great. The stamped “RZM M7/19 1939” ricasso and “Ed. Wüsthof Solingen Ges. Gesch.” maker mark are both nicely executed. The fit continues to remain nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates an Exc+. It shows age grey and pitting along with surface scratches throughout. The original black leather buffer remains intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard is in excellent condition! It shows evidence of a period re-paint. 85%+ paint coverage remains intact. It remains completely dent free. The scabbard leather is in excellent condition. It has all of its rivets intact and the large snap continues to work well. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 90% of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite. The obverse shows a large crack going through the bottom rivet and side of the diamond. Both steel rivets remain tightly secured. The HJ diamond shows some cracking yet retains 98%+ of its enamel. A good transitional Hitler Youth Knife!
