A Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Arthur Schüttelhöfer & Co. of Solingen-Wald. The ricassoed, mottoed blade on this one has age. The “Blut und Ehre!” motto, “RZM M7/13” and “Arthur Schüttelhöfer & Co. Solingen-Wald” maker marks are dark, crisp and clearly executed. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates an Exc. It has age grey and surface scratches throughout. The original black leather buffer pad is lost to time. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks excellent. It retains 99%+ paint coverage with age spidering and remains completely dent free! The folded brown ersatz leather strap is in excellent condition. It retains all of its rivets and the snap continues to work very well! The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 90%+ of its plated finish. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in perfect shape and are secured by two nickel-silver rivets. The HJ diamond has some enamel loss which I have taken great effort to show. A nice example.
