A Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen – RZM M7/66 1941. The stunning blade on this one is gorgeous with 99% of factory crossgrain remaining. The crisp acid etched “Eickhorn Solingen” / “RZM M7/66” maker marks and “41” date stamp are all nicely executed! The tip comes to a very sharp point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates a solid Mint- with just a stain where the runner rested to the reverse for 75 years. The original blackened leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The textbook shape Eickhorn steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks great retaining 99% of it's factory paint. It remains completely dent free! The blackened scabbard leather is well used and suffers dry rot. All of its rivets are intact and the button continues to work well however the tip of the leather to the end of the button is missing. There are surface cracks and I would not suggest being anything but careful. The hilt is zinc-alloy based nickel-silver plated. The plating is 99% intact. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in near perfect shape being tightly secured by two steel rivets. The HJ diamond is perfect with all of its enamel!
