Here’s a good looking piece at a fair price! The blade on this one looks good. The early acid etched “Alcoso ACS Solingen” maker mark is nicely executed! The tip comes to a perfect point. It is clean but someone took a grinder or something damaging the finish about 4" down to the tip. The blade rates Exc. The original large leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! Both original throat retaining screws remain intact. The brass based, silver plated Alcoso 3rd variation eagle crossguard provides nice detail throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath and chest. It shows wear to the high areas. The Alcoso pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns that are easily visible through the back burnishing. The perfect orange trylon grip on this one looks great. Finishing this is a nice portepee. A nice example at a great price!
