2nd Pattern - SS-Leibstandarte “Adolf Hitler” Ärmelstreiffen für Offiziere. Purchased from the veteran’s family. They originally had it taped to a frame and there are still remnants of tape to the back side. It is constructed out of machine embroidered black cotton with silver bullion stitching and silver aluminum flat wire thread. The rectangular shaped obverse reads, in silver sütterlin script “Adolf Hitler” on a black field with two horizontal flat wire borders. It shows the odd thread catch and wear throughout. Measures 18 3/4 inches long by 1 1/8 inches tall. One of, if not the most desirable cuff title.
