NSDAP Schirmmütze für Politische Leiter der Kreisleitung. Introduced in 1939. The visor is constructed out of a ribbed light tan cotton tricot with a dark brown velvet center band and white (weiß) piping. Attached to the obverse is a die stamped, tombak based, gold gilded 1939 pattern NSDAP cap eagle and a 1939 pattern NSDAP multi piece cockade (with swastika) and gilded wreath. The front also features a dark brown lacquered visor peak with a cross hatched brown underside. To the sides are two peened on multi piece aluminum/steel gold gilded pebbled side buttons that hold the golden interwoven rayon chin cord in place. The interior features a worn and crazed tan sweatband (that retains 99% of its stitching) along with a golden silk/rayon lining. There are tears throughout the sweatband. The three eagle prongs are visible to the interior. The base of the lining has a clear moisture shield and a paper size insert “55”. The exterior is wonderful condition, I can only see one moth nip. This is a beautiful example!
