A WH Heeres Schirmmütze 1938. It is constructed out of quality field grey doe skin wool, with a dark green center band and sky blue piping. Attached to the obverse is a die stamped, aluminum based, silver washed army cap eagle and multi piece tricolor cockade and silvered wreath. To the sides are two peened on steel black enamel side buttons that hold the blackened leather chin cord in place. The front also features a black lacquered visor peak with a cross hatched light brown underside. The interior features a nicely secured well marked tan leather sweatband. The base of the lining has a clear moisture shield (that holds most of its stitching) over an ink stamp "52". A beautiful display piece!
