Stickpin – Spanish Cross with Swords

The Spanish Cross with Swords was awarded to those who had at least moderate combat experience, having participated in decisive battles. The stickpin lapel variation would be privately purchased for everyday wear. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc. The obverse depicts a convex pebbled Maltese style cross with two crossed broad swords and four Luftwaffe eagles to each corner, that has an encircled mobile swastika to the center. The full back concave reverse is unmarked and has a soldered on stickpin. The head measures 11/16 of an inch wide and tall. A nice one!
