here's one direct from the Vet's family. Unfortunately when I got it the family had painted it gold LOL, I had to give it a acetone bath and clean it up so it you see a wee flake of gold in the pics that's what. The bright blade on this one looks great! The acid etched "F. W. Holler Solingen" maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! Nice crossgrain remains. It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The blade on this one rates NM. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based nickel plated scabbard looks good with some plating loss to the edges, exactly what one would expect from normal period wear. It depicts good details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and retains the throat retaining screw. It has nicely aged and patinaed with time. The aluminum based eagle crossguard, steel ferrule and aluminum pommel all look good! The eagle has good detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The early trylon grip has aged to a nice orange over time. The grip is in near perfect shape! No cracks but a wee flake to the top turn at the reverse pommel. The aluminum springy wire wrap remains tightly intact. A nice example all around!
