A 1st Model (M1934/35) Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by SMF of Solingen. The plated blade on this one is beautiful! The “SMF Solingen” maker mark is beautifully executed! The fit remains nice and tight. The plating gives it a nice mirror like finish. The blade rates Exc++. The original blue pebbled leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The original blue, pebbled, leather scabbard body remains in good condition! It has the odd pressure mark and some leather missing to the leading edge. It retains 97% coverage and has a perfect seam! The scalloped steel scabbard fittings remain in excellent condition with nice patina. The fittings are tightly secured with all five original screws! The aluminum chain has 6 lower and 6 upper ringlets that ends at a well working “Ges. Gesch. OLC” marked clip. The hilt looks great! The four sun wheel swastikas are brass inserted and look great, retaining the silver between the legs of the swas. The grip leather remains in excellent condition! The nickel-silver triple wire wrap remains tightly intact. A very nice transitional example.
