Here we have a zinc based, die-struck silver washed and gold gilded Navy Minesweeper War Badge by R.K. (4th Variation). The finish is all gone from this one. To the obverse is a centrally placed vertical mine explosion that is coming out of the wavy water, this is below a Kriegsmarine national eagle (with out-stretched wings, clutching a swastika within its talons), which is all encompassed by a oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The badge has been vaulted at some point. The reverse of the badge is a full-back and is correctly marked: "R.K." (Rudolf Karneth & Sohn). It has the correct integral block hinge, crimped round wire catch and coke bottle steel pin. Some nice details remain. See the "The Kriegsmarine Awards" book pg. 384-5. A correct textbook example!
