Interesting signed SS Rottenführer picture

Post-war signed picture. Look carefull see how the PAB, EKI and SWB were added by the studio. We do see this sometimes. very neat. I can't make out the signature. The SS-Mann in the photo is Jakob Tiefenthaler, who worked at the US Army base in Augsburg as late as the 1980s and was friends with many Third Reich personalities such as Wilhelm Mohnke, Wilhelm Bittrich, Hans Baur and others. Tiefenthaler also knew many Ritterkreuzträger in the OdR, the German Knights Cross Association, and for some of these Knights Cross winners (both Army and SS) he produced a montage - usually with a picture of the person along with the Divisional symbol in which they served - so that these veterans could sign these photo cards when their autographs were requested. My own impression of these graphics were that they were never of any high photographic quality but in the end, they did serve their purpose. In his capacity working for the U.S. Military he knew people like Jess Lukens and most likely Mark Yerger, both notable SS historians who attended many W-SS veteran reunions in Germany. In this particular case, Tiefenthaler made his own card for signing as he too was frequently asked for his autograph. more
