1st Model – Deutsches Reich Bahnschutz Dolch für Führer. The unmarked tapered tang blade on this one has been post-war polished down hard by some well meaning collector. There are remnants of pitting that you can still see if you turn the blade just so in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates Exc+. The large leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and oak leaf and acorn bands. It remains completely dent free. The original throat retaining screws remain intact. The zinc based, nickel-silver plated generic crossguard provides crisp details throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. The black bakelite grip is in excellent condition. No cracks or chips. Now in my opinion this is a parts dagger. I prefer these to be Klaas made with a type B grip and a later marked blade.
