Here's a decent example of a serialized Klaas SS! The blade on this one is nice. It has some scuffs, the worse being below the bottom near the cutting edge. Like maybe someone tried sharpening it, I say tried because it's not sharp. The acid etched Meine Ehre heisst Treue motto and maker mark are both beautifully executed, providing good contrast to the blade! The fits are all there! The blade rates Exc+. The black anodized scabbard body looks excellent! It has some wee impressions to the lower obverse you can find with your fingers. It continues to retain all the bluing! The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great matching the crossguard in color, wear and patina. It retains all four scabbard screws and the ball retains its round shape with just the tiniest "kiss" to the bottom. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards look great! The reverse of the lower crossguard is district stamped "II" Dresden). It's hard to see because Heinrich stamped his SS Serial # right over it, "21332". SS Rottenfuher Heinrich Franks was Born 12.02.1889. His NSDAP Membership # was, "41176". The textbook Klaas black died hardwood grip has flake to the top crossguard fit above the roundel. The grip is cracked through. It's not falling apart so I leave it as is. Yes I know some out there would apply some glue but I like leaving well alone. It's fine and will continue to be. The solid nickel eagle retains nice detail and has a perfect fit! The SS roundel has 100% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! Included is an early RZM type vertical hanger with belt loop. A very nice numbered example.
