An early, heavy, slant grip, tapered tang, textbook Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by WKC (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie.) of Solingen. The blade on this one has been cleaned hard. There is some evidence of pitting. The acid etched Knights Head “WKC Solingen” maker mark is nicely executed! The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! The large leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! The scabbard remains dent free. The original throat retaining screws remain intact. The brass based nickel silver plated WKC eagle crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. All matching hand enhanced fittings! The early desirable slant orange trylon grip has wear, stain and a few hairlines. Nicely finishing this is a worn portepee. A heavy early example.
