German WWII > Belt Buckles > Luftwaffe >
A nicely marked Luftwaffe (Air Force) EM/NCO Belt and Buckle, that was instituted in 1938. The buckle is constructed out of an injection molded aluminum alloy base that has been silver washed. The obverse features a centrally placed 2nd pattern Luftwaffe open winged eagle clutching a swastika in one of its talons, on top of an oval pebbled background, that is all encircled by a laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom and all lies on a pebbled rectangular backing. The reverse shows an integral catch and pin/post sleeve assembly that remain in great condition! It is marked FKO and has the showing a LBA issue stamped leather tab remaining. The obverse of the buckle shows wear to the high spots. Attached to the buckle is a cut down 1st pattern 40 inch long black/brown leather belt. It features a stitched on steel hook to the one end and a stitched on 10 hole punched tongue to the other. The leather is supple. A nice assembly!
