Early model 1933 NSKK Dagger (Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps Dienstdolch) byJ.P. Sauer & Sohn of Suhl. The bright blade on this one looks beautiful! The dark and crisp acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "J.P. Sauer & Sohn Suhl Gegr. 1751" maker mark beautifully contrast the bright blade! The crossgrain is stunning and runs the full length of the blade. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! The blade rates an easy Mint-. It shows just a few age stains toward the reverse guard. The black repainted scabbard body looks great. It continues to remain completely dent free! The early solid nickel scabbard fittings look good. The ball has a hit to its bottom but still retains it's basic shape. 2 screws are replacements. The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "SA". Stop and look at the stamp, see how it's all in caps with a weird sort of "tail" at the end of the SA Yup! That's how some of these were stamped. Neat! The ends on the top guard have been slightly rounded, I'm sure in the period as they have patinaed with the rest of the hilt. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect but the patina is not perfectly matched to the hilt. The brown hardwood grip looks excellent! Just the common pressure marks but no cracks, chips or splits! The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful detail and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel. An excellent NSKK all around!
