This is a very large example measuring in at 16 1/2 inches in diameter. The motto is a typical type of SS/Pagan wording " Heil dem Gast der zu uns Kommt " or roughly translated to " Heil to the guest that comes to us ". The words of the Norse "Edda". The spiral of life (1942 SS leitheft cover) another pagan symbol used by ancient Greek, Germanics, Vikings just to name a few...this one was reserved to SS. It is a footed example and a heavy hammered piece and bears the maker mark "Werkschar" or Work group. Essentially an organization that re-created articles from the past.
