Early SA Dagger by J. A. Henckels

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

A quality Early Model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) by a knife maker still in business today: J.A. Henckels of Solingen Zwillingswerk. The blade on this one has age and some scuffs I have not tried to clean. The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "J.A. Henckels of Solingen Zwillingswerk" maker mark are crisp and beautifully executed! The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit remains nice and tight! It shows age spotting and surface scratches throughout. The scabbard has some hits to the reverse. It is steel based and brown anodized. It retains a good brown finish with a good amount of lacquer. the scabbard fittings match the crossguards. If you insert the blade backwards the patina is all matching even the stains, this BTW is how it arrived from the family I purchased it from. The ball is pushed in and all four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "Wf". The brown hardwood grip has some scratches, and impressions. The reverse lower left corner has a flake missing and a hairline. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 90%+ of its enamel.
