A M1938 - 2nd Model Kriegsmarine Dolch für Offiziere. An excellent example by Eickhorn! The acid etched fouled anchor blade on this one looks wonderful! The etching is gorgeous with dark and crisp panels that provide a wonderful contrast to the bright exterior! The stamped double oval "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark is beautifully executed! The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight! The blade on this one rates Exc++. The original brown felt buffer pad continues to remain intact. The lightning bolt style scabbard is brass based and gold gilded. It has wear while remaining completely dent free and depicts wonderful details especially with the hand enhancing towards the tip. Both throat retaining screws remain intact and unturned. The button continues to work well and tightly secures the scabbard to the hilt. The crossguard and pommel are brass based and gold gilded. The fouled anchors to the crossguard and proudly perched Kriegsmarine eagle pommel are beautifully detailed! The grip is wood based and covered in white celluloid. It continues to remain in superb shape! No cracks, chips or splits! The brass double twisted wire wrap remains tightly intact! Nice gilding and tons of factory lacquer! A beautiful example!
