A M38 - 2.Modell Reichsluftschutzbund (RLB) Dolch für Unterführer by Ernst Erich Witte of Solingen. Here's one taken out of an advanced collection! The blade on this one is in excellent shape! it's got some scuffs and has been cleaned. Some crossgrain remains. The reverse shows a typical lightly etched "Kroneck W Ernst Erich Witte Solingen" maker mark! The tip is perfect, as is the fit! The blade rates an easy Exc+/Exc++. It retains its original leather buffer pad. The steel based, blue leather covered scabbard looks excellent! The leather coverage is beautiful, better than 99%! It has three nickel plated fittings that are in excellent shape, and match the hilt in color, wear and patina. All five screws remain intact. The solid aluminum hit looks excellent! The detailed eagle sits proudly to the front crossguard. The wood based, leather covered grip also retains better than 99% leather coverage. The front pinned sun swastika retains excellent enamel. A great example, one for a great collection!
