A M1938 - 2nd Model Kriegsmarine Dolch für Offiziere by Eickhorn. The acid etched fouled anchor blade on this one looks stunning! The fit is nice and tight. The crisp etch remains nice and dark and the stamped over-the-shoulder "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark is correctly executed! The blade on this one rates a solid Exc++ with a nice dark etch. There is a bit of spotting throughout. The buffer pad is lost to time. The brass based, gilded, lightning bolt scabbard looks good. The details and hand enhancing are beautifully displayed! It has several wee hits and marks from normal period wear. One throat retaining screws remains intact and unturned. The brass based hilt and pommel are beautifully detailed with the fouled anchor and a proud kreigsmarine eagle sitting right on top! The hilt and scabbard match in gilding, color and patina. The wood based, white celluloid grip has a hairline to the side clearly shown. The double twisted brass wire wrap remains tightly intact! A nice example!
