A Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by WKC (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie.) of Solingen. The blade on this one is has some age. The acid etched Knights Head “WKC Solingen” maker mark is dark crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible as you shine it in the light, all the way from the hilt to the tip! The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! The blade rates an easy Exc+. It shows minor age grey/spot and the common surface scratches throughout. The leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! It has a nickel plated finish. The scabbard remains dent free. The original throat retaining screws remains intact. The nickel silver plated tomahawk WKC eagle crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. The sun toned dark orange trylon grip is in wonderful condition. The light area around the pommel indicates there likely was a portepee on this for many years shielding this from UV light. A textbook piece.
