An Early Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by JP Sauer & Sohn of Suhl out of the woodwork. A little known fact but the famous pistol maker Sauer was a true quality maker of SA daggers too! The bright blade on this one has fingerprint stains. The crisp acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "J.P. Sauer & Sohn Suhl Gegr. 1751" is dark and easily readable. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! The blade rates an easy Exc+. The brown dent-free anodized scabbard body looks great retaining some of it's factory lacquer and 99% anodizing. It has some oxidization spotting. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look good matching the crossguards in color and wear. The ball has a bruise to the very bottom and retains it's original shape. All four screws remain intact. The scabbard ring was lost at some point and someone made a period repair replacing it. The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "Fr" (Franken). The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect! The brown hardwood grip looks excellent! Just the common pressure marks but no cracks, chips or splits! The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect! The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful detail and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99% of its enamel. Included is a repaired 2 piece hanger. An excellent SA from the vet's family that's never been in a collection or apart!
