Very Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Anton Wingen Jr. of Solingen. The mottoed blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto remains visisble in the light. The stamped knight “A.W.Jr.” maker mark / “Ges. Geschützt” patent mark are dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The tip comes to a nice point and it continues to hold a nice and tight fit! The blade rates an Exc+. It has been used and cleaned but not sharpened, it shows common oxidization spotting throughout. The previous owner cleaned it with gun cleaner. The buffer pad is lost to time. The steel based black anodized scabbard looks excellent! It is an atypical scabbard for a wingen. It remains completely dent free. The black scabbard leather remains in nice condition with all of its rivets and a well working snap. The iron based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 99%+ of its plating. The black checkered grip plates are in perfect shape! Both nickel-silver rivets remain intact tightly securing the hilt. The HJ diamond retains 60%+ of its enamel. A solid HJ knife.
