NSDStB Armband

A Rare NSDStB (Nationalsozialistischer Deutscher Studentenbund) Ärmelbinde. This is the official pattern armband was worn on the upper left sleeve of most all NSDStB uniforms as the identifying organizational insignia. It is constructed out of multiple pieces of cotton. The rectangular shaped obverse features a centrally placed and separately applied machine embroidered black swastika on a white rhombus diamond background, that is stitched in front of two white horizontal lines and a red backing. The top and bottom have been folded over and re-enforced with stitching. The back has been folded and stitched together to size. It looks as though it was shortened in the period with extra stitching to the top and bottom. It measures 7 inches wide by 4 5/8 inches tall. It shows slight age toning. A very rare armband!
