Silber Ritterkreuz des Kriegsverdienstkreuzes mitte Schwertern. Instituted August 19th 1940, the Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross without Swords was awarded for outstanding merit of decisive consequence for the conduct of the war. It is constructed out of die struck tomabak that has been plated. The obverse features a pebbled Maltese style cross and a wreath / “1939” (reverse) to the center. There are two crossed swords going through the center. To the top is an integral lined arch, ring. This particular example is a REPRODUCTIION cast from an original.
