Silber Ritterkreuz des Kriegsverdienstkreuzes ohne Schwertern. Instituted August 19th 1940, the Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross without Swords was awarded for outstanding merit of decisive consequence for the conduct of the war. It is constructed out of die struck tomabak that has been plated. The obverse features a pebbled Maltese style cross and a wreath / “1939” (reverse) to the center. To the top is an integral lined arch, ring with suspension device. This particular example is a REPRODUCTIION cast from an original.
