Kriegsmarine Koppelschloß by CTD - Christian Theodor Dicke of Lüdenscheid in 1942. Introduced in 1935. It is constructed of a die struck brass base that has been gold plated. The obverse roundel depicts a closed winged Kriegsmarine eagle griping a mobile swastika in its talons on a textured round background. The eagle is above a half oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the center and is underneath the motto reading: “Gott Mit Uns” (God with us). The wreath and motto are both in front of a decorative lined type pattern background which is encircled by two twisted ropes. The roundel lies on a smooth rectangular backing. The reverse is maker marked “C.T.D. 1942” and features a rare crank catch and steel pin/post sleeve assembly. The buckle measures 2 7/16 inch wide by 1 15/16 inches tall. This piece is a textbook example. Do not hesitate or this will be gone. Rare crack-catch version of a Navy buckle late war dated 1942.
