A J1 - Frontflugspange Für Aufklärer, Seenotflieger-Verbände und Wetter-Erkundungs Staffeln in Gold by C. E. Juncker of Berlin. Instituted January 30, 1941, the Clasp for Reconnaissance, Air/Sea Rescue and Meteorological Squadrons in Gold was awarded for specialized squadrons upon the completion of 110 combat missions. It is constructed out of two pieces of die struck / stamped tombak / nickel-silver that has been gold gilded / chemically blackened has polished highlights and is all covered in a protective lacquer coating. The obverse depicts a centrally placed blackened eagle head that is surrounded by a laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom with a stagnant swastika and is flanked by four round cut outs and two nine-piece oak leaf clusters. The full back reverse shows an off-center rivet, a soldered on tombak round wire catch, soldered on tombak barrel hinge and sturdy tapered tombak pin.
