A Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by RZM M7/10 1938 - J.A. Henckels of Solingen. The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto and “RZM M/10 1938” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain wonderfully shines against the light, running the full length of the blade. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight! The blade rates an Exc++. It shows age grey, spotting and surface scratches throughout. The scabbard is steel based and brown painted. It shows minor spidering and scratches throughout, yet continues to remain completely dent free and retains 99%+ paint coverage. The scabbard fittings are steel based and nickel-silver plated. They hold nice plating coverage. The ball has two wee bruises and have a nice round profile. It has four screws, two were added. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect. The crossguards are zinc based and nickel-silver plated. The plating shows typical thinning. The brown hardwood grip looks great. It has some hits around the eagle. It has the typical pressure marks/ scratches but no cracks, chips or flakes. The aluminum eagle is beautifully detailed with a perfect fit. The SA roundel is retains 99%+ of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! There is a pleasant matching patina throughout and all the fits are wonderful.
