Das Festabzeichen für den 9. November in München 1933 by Deschler & Sohn of München. A festival badge for the 10th Anniversary of the Munich Putsch. Also known as a Gau München badge this is still somewhat of a mystery, although it is likely a Gau level award commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 9. November 1923 attempted Putsch. It is constructed of a die struck bronze base that has been bronze washed. The obverse features a centrally placed “1933” above a mobile and is surrounded by an oak leaf wreath with a ribbon around it that reads: “Und Ihr Habt Doch Gesiegt” (And you were victorious after all). The hollow back reverse shows a soldered on tombak well working pin assembly and is maker marked: “Deschler u. Sohn München 9”. It was covered in a verdigris type material when I got it and needed to be cleaned leaving it somewhat grey, though it looks more bronze in hand. It measures 1 3/8 inches in diameter. Rare and desirable.
