K98 Bayonet 1940

Well here's a great matching example! The dark blued blade on this one looks excellent! The tip and fit are both perfect and there is no sharpening or damage! The front of the blade is stamped 7518, the back, WKC and 40 to the spine indicating the year of construction (1940) and the manufacturer (WKC). The stamps exactly match the scabbard. The blade rates a solid Exc++. It shows a bit of bluing loss where the runners have worn. The steel based, black anodized scabbard has wear down to the base to the lower side. It remains completely dent free! The single side screw remains tightly intact. The scabbard sits securely up against the hilt. The hilt looks great! It has wear and the finish is down to the base metal through much of the hilt. The brown/black bakelite grip plates are in good condition with expected wear. No cracks or splits! The button works properly. This piece is profusely inspection stamped as one would expect. Included is a 1938 marked frog that is issue stamped to a FLAK unit. Overall this one is in excellent shape throughout!
