An Early Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Hugo Linder of Solingen. The blade on this one has some age and old fingerprint stain. The crossgrain is stunning against the light, the fit is nice and tight. There is a wee bent to the very tip I tried to clearly show. The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and LINDOR Solingen maker mark are both beautifully executed! The blade rates an easy Exc+. The brown anodized scabbard looks great remaining completely dent free! It has 99% of anodizing and much factory lacquer intact. There is some evidence of wear and some very minor scratches. The solid nickel scabbard fittings are in good shape with the ball having taken a wee kiss you will have to go looking to find. All four screws remaining intact! The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards are also in great condition and match the scabbard fittings in color and wear. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "Wf". The grip / crossguard fits are fine. The multi-toned hardwood grip has a nice finish and looks excellent! No chips, cracks or splits! Just the common pressure marks. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel. Overall this is a nice solid example that will surely look great in your collection!
