A DRL-Sportabzeichen in Silber by Wernstein Jena of Lobstädt. The silver grade DRL badge was awarded to men and women between the ages of 18-32 who passed the national fitness test for a total of eight years or individuals between the ages of 32-40 who passed the fitness test during a 12-month period. It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that has been silver washed and lacquered. The oval shaped obverse depicts a centrally placed “DRL” in stylized letters which is surrounded by an oak leaf wreath which is tied together at the bottom with a ribbon and mobile swastika. The reverse correctly displays a; soldered block hinge, The pin is a replacement. It is also marked “DRGM 35269” and “Wernstein Jena”. It continues to retain beautiful detail and 90% of its silver wash! It measures 1 ½ inches wide by 1 7/8 inches tall.
