1. Modell - Wehrmacht Schützenschnur 3. Stufe (c.June 1936 – October 1938) by T. & S.. Instituted June 29, 1936, the first pattern Wehrmacht Marksmen Lanyard (Wehrmacht eagle in front of a shield) was originally made in four grades to replace the previous sleeve stripes. Come October 17, 1938, the first pattern lanyard was replaced with the second pattern (the insignia differentiated depending on the unit) for grades five through eight. This lanyard is constructed out of a 14-braid silver-aluminum v-pattern cord, with a stamped aged silver first pattern Wehrmacht insignia attached to the rosette. The reverse features a stitched-on field-gray wool piece to the back which is marked, in black ink “T. & S.” of the rosette and a grey ribbed rayon to the back of the cord. There are two artillery shells attached to the base. It measures 16 inches long. A great looking lanyard.
