Wehrmacht Sable by WMW, Waffenfabrik Max Weyersberg Solingen. Here's a nice early piece with beautiful handwork! The 33" blade on this one rates an easy NM. There is the odd surface scratch and a couple dots of age but that's about it. The blade is really clean with no sharpening, pitting or stains. The tip is perfect It's marked but too hard to photograph it under the languet. It can be found in Angolia's sword reference pg 142. The original brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The black dent-free enamel painted scabbard shows light wear with surface scratches/crazing throughout. The throat is secured by two unturned dome head screws. The heavy solid brass hilt and P-guard are beautifully detailed and look at all that hand enhancing!! The languet features an open winged political style eagle. Notice that the ferule is incorporated into the hilt and P-guard. Nice! The black celluloid grip is near perfect. The brass triple wire wrap has a couple loose wires. A great piece to add to your collection!
