A later all matching M1937 Fliegerdolch by Alcoso - Alexander Coppel of Solingen. The blade on this one is mint. The acid etched “AWS Alcoso Solingen” maker mark is beautifully executed. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based airplane grey plated scabbard looks perfect and shows just the lightest of wear. It depicts great details throughout the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and the two throat retaining screws remain intact. The generic Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and pommel look excellent as well. The solid goliath based grip is in excellent condition remaining chip and crack-free. The goliath grips were milk based if my memory serves me. They were only used for a very short period and were a bit of an experiment being quickly abandon for the celluloid over plaster. It has the Alcoso textbook dual brass twisted wire wrap. Look how the patina all matches!!
